Frequently Asked Questions

Does Freelink sell my name/e-mail address?
No. Freelink is committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information we collect about you to maintain your Freelink page, and to answer any questions or respond to any email we may receive from you. We will not, under any circumstances, provide that information to any other persons or organization.

Can other people see my Freelink page?
You decided if your page is public (anyone can view it) or private when you created your page. Unless you selected otherwise, most Freelink pages are public like any other home page so anyone can view them. A private page requires you to enter a password every time you want to see your page (unless you instruct Freelink to remember your password). It also means that no one else can view your page. You can change your page to be private as follows:

    1. Click on the Edit Page Layout button.
    2. Choose No from the Page Is Public dropdown list.

Does Freelink use cookies?
Yes. Like most programs that store information for you, Freelink uses a session cookie. However, with a session cookie nothing is stored in your browser. This is why you need to enter your password when you log into your Freelink page You can choose to have Freelink remember your password for you, in which case you would not need to enter a username and password to log in. You would just press the Login button. To remember your password, Freelink uses a persistent cookie stored in your browser's cookie file. For added security, Freelink encrypts the cookie information it stores to that only Freelink can read it. To have Freelink remember your password, do as follows:

    1. Click on the Your Account button.
    2. Choose Yes from the Remember Password dropdown list.
